MEET OUR CHEFS:

CHEF DAVID MACMILLAN

 

Chef David MacMillan has been instructing classes at Once Upon a Vine... since 2003. Dan & Darlene first met him when they were interested in taking a "Wine Appreciation" class at New Westminster's Adult Education program. Instead, they ended up taking a "Wine & Cheese" class, were impressed, asked Chef MacMillan if he'd be interested in another venue, and the rest is history! We first learned about Chef Dez from one of our trusted, helpful gourmet food sales reps.  He didn't lead us wrong! Chef Dez joined us for the Grand Opening of demonstration kitchen and has been cooking with us ever since. Visit his website to learn more about this culinary entertainer!:

CHEF KAREN BARNABY

Well-known chef and best-selling cookbook author, Karen Barnaby, began doing cooking classes here at Once Upon a Vine... in July of 2009. You may recognize her name from her regular Vancouver Sun column, or as the Executive Chef of the Fish House in Stanley Park. CHEF NATHAN HYAM

We have had the privilege of hosting Chef Hyam's classes a few times, and find him to be an excellent teacher and a skilled chef. The most recent chef added to our repertoire is Chef Wayne Sych, Executive Chef of the Cannery. From 1998 to 2008, Chef Sych was the Executive Sous Chef at the Fish House in Stanley Park, working along side Chef Karen Barnaby. We are excited to have him come and join us here at Once Upon a Vine...!
